This Christmas our family was blessed with the opportunity to fly to Ireland for a little over 2 weeks! We were also able to meet up with my (Heather) oldest brother who stopped by for a few days on his way to Slovakia to spend Christmas with his wife (my sister-in-law) and her family. Bruce’s parents spent the entire 2 weeks with us and it was so nice to see a few family members around Christmas as its been about a year since we have seen anyone. The kids really enjoyed the time with Grandma and Grandpa Wilkens and Uncle Dave. We had a lot of time to just rest, relax before the fireplace, play games, cuddle and read stories and go on little adventures in the Irish countryside. It rained, cleared for a few hours and rained some more. We saw a ton of rainbows which just made the experience even more charming. It was a wonderful time.
The weather was FREEZING compared to what we are used to. About 30-40F (6-10C) We spent most of our time outdoors saying how cold it was. I think with the rainy weather it made it feel even colder. But it was a nice change from the heat and humidity of Tanzania. There is not much more to report so I will leave you with a few pictures.
